Hi, I'm Theo.

I'm a transitional year resident (PGY-1) at MetroWest Medical Center, in a Tufts University School of Medicine–affiliated program. I graduated from Brown with my MD in May 2026 and earned my BS in biology from UMBC. I matched diagnostic radiology at St. Vincent Hospital, in a UMass Chan Medical School–affiliated program (2027). When I'm not thinking about medicine, I'm usually thinking about the person behind the diagnosis.

Here you'll find writings on philosophy, computational neuroscience, art, and the things that make us human. Everyone has a valuable perspective to offer on the things in life that matter. Here you'll find mine. What are yours? My friends and I are on a mission to talk to and assemble a team of like minded people to improve the human condition. If this resonates with you, reach out to [email protected] to talk.

Memento Mori is a collection of thoughts I put together towards the end of medical school on the things that last, written before residency began changing my perspective. When you're this many years deep into school, it's hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel; this series is my attempt to hold onto the bigger picture underneath the day to day.

When the day to day becomes all encompassing, and it feels like you can't see where you're headed, I often find myself thinking about these things. I hope you find this to be a place where you can unwind, put aside the admin, and think about the things that last.

In my last months of medical school this year, I sat with more people in their final moments than I ever had. Sitting with them I learned that at the end of life it's not the minutiae that find their way into your thoughts, it's the deeper topics concerning how you lived and the legacy you will leave behind. Writing this has allowed me to explore things not usually dwelt on until death do us part.

Season 1 is called Before It All Changes. My perspective on things before the path I'm on inevitably changes them. I wanted to get it in writing now so I could see how my upcoming experiences causes them to drift. We often change without observing the delta, so this is my space to do so.

Thanks for taking the time to engage with these thoughts, unfinished as they are. Without further ado, Memento Mori - Season 1.
